Common questions
What does a battery size code like 652 mean?
It's the standard South African size code. It tells you the battery's outside size, which side the positive terminal is on and its rough capacity. The right code means the battery fits the tray, the cables reach and it has enough power for your engine.
Where do I find my battery size?
Look at the label on the top or side of your current battery for a three-digit code such as 628 or 652. Or send us a photo of the battery, or just your make, model and year, on WhatsApp and we'll confirm it.
Can I fit a bigger battery than the original?
Sometimes, if it fits the tray and the terminals are on the same side, but bigger isn't always better. Start-stop cars need the right EFB or AGM type. We'll tell you what suits your car.
